SOMEthing's Drawn

The best I can do today is not very good. Since the cat is outta the bag after Monday's post, now you know why most of my writing has been filler type stuff- not very personal. I apologize! It's just that I'm bad at keeping my secrets from my own writing. The other part of this, however, is the awful sickness. I feel terrible most days even when I try to talk myself out of it. "Me? Oh, I'm great! Can't believe how good I feel." Lies, lies, lies. This pregnancy is catching up to me now. Anyway, I've got a few drawings for you this week. I hope y'all have got some dandies for me to make up for my lack of brilliance in Draw Something.

That's the best of the best from this week (wah wah wahhhh). Look at what a cheater I am:
I may or may not have done a "sorority opposite" today, too. Maybe you all have some better drawings to share? Link up!

COMING SOON

On April Fool's Day 2011, we found out that our sweet baby was a boy. On April Fool's Day 2012 I decided to take a pregnancy test. For days prior, I had begun to notice my clothes were fitting a bit tighter although my lifestyle choices hadn't budged. I took a home pregnancy test and when the first line popped up loud and clear, I threw the test away.

Minutes later, I got the test out of the trash just to make certain and lo and behold- a second pink line had appeared. "Is that, right?", I thought. The next morning, I took another and it came up positive as well. There was no doubt in my mind then, but Captain J needed some more convincing. I called the hospital and made an appointment for a blood test. I was barely home before they called with the results.

We're going to have [another] baby!

Whew! Two under two. This is really happening.

We are surprised, excited, and so very happy to be adding to our family. I'll be passing along more details as they become available to me, but I've just been dying to share our good news.

Love,
Mama K

Project 365- Week 18

I'm so behind with my Project 365. I mean, I do take the photos- I just never type up the posts in time and then I get behind and it feels like a chore. Blogging isn't supposed to be a chore! Is it cool if I just skip the week before and just do the one week? Oh, you don't care in the slightest? Figures. Here's what this last week looked like for us:
Sunday: I cheated on y'all with my trusty pen and paper journal.

Monday: Captain J didn't have to be into work until 1000 hours so we enjoyed it!

Tuesday: Baby K played with Holly.

Wednesday: My hubby made a dinner that he was obviously proud of. Pretty tasty, too!

Thursday: My laundry pile taunted me...ALL DAY.

Friday: Munchin' on big boy food

Saturday: I was checking the time to see that I didn't miss my friend Jen's shower.

Link up with Laura to show your P365 photos off, too!

Worst Army Wife

I'm the worst Army wife ever. It's official. Every time Captain J leaves (which is often) I get a terrible homesick feeling and wonder why in the world I'm at Fort Polk, Louisiana. You would think after four years of living this life that I'd be used to it by now, but I'm not. I still feel empty when he leaves...alone. Despite having things to keep me busy and a community of Army wives who're in the same position I am, the feeling creeps in. I can't help it. I miss home. I miss my family. Last night in my hometown, they had a relay for life and my step-dad's band played there. Here's a fact you might not know about me- I actually genuinely like Bluegrass music. I grew up listening to it from my dad and my step-dad who both play a variety of instruments and have been in several bands over the years. When my mom posted a video of them playing, I felt that familiar tug to go back to East Tennessee. I wish I was there right now.

P.S. That's my step-dad singing and playing the tall bass.

Happy Weekend to you!

An Average Morning with Amber

I'm SUPA pumped to announce my very first ever guest blogger! Well, first human guest blogger. If you've been reading long enough, you might remember when a certain Alaskan Husky stole my blog for the day. But I'm really moving on up in the world now, though. I'm happy to introduce you to Amber! We've traded blogs for the day so you can find me posting over at her stomping grounds. If you're reading this in the a.m. you might wanna give her awhile to post it. She's on Alaska Time, ya know! Without further ado...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi guys!! I'm Amber from My three bittles. Today I thought I'd show you what an average morning in my crazy life was like. 3 kids, 2 cats, a dog and a husband. Ready?! Here goes:First it starts off with coffee! Lots of coffee.
The coffee goes hand in hand with the baby feeding. Usually it's just the two of us awake.
Then comes handsome man waking up. He of course wants breakfast. Ignore the chairs still on the table from where I swept and mopped the kitchen because I just haven't had a chance to pull them back down.
Once babylady wakes up, she's usually in a terribly terrible mood.And cons me into covering her upand while I'm covering her up and hugging her, Fin is there turning on whatever cartoon she wants to watch. He's learned the ways of Maddie. He's a sweet one, that one.
Then Miss grumpy pants requests some strawberry milk.Then I have to pause all of everything to clean puppy pee.
 At this point, sweet baby O laughs at me from the other side of the kitchen.Then I sit back down to my cold coffee and finish feeding a sweet baby, only to turn around and find these two crazies camping out in the living room. They're goofy.
After breakfast, this happens:I make him a bottle to wash down his breakfast. This morning it happened to be bananas.
 Then I attempt to get some laundry done. Phew. That alone is a task and a half.
Once all folded, I get the bittles to take their pants and underwear and socks up to the designated drawers while I take the shirts up and hang them. Then I sit on my bum and attempt to blog. That all lasts a matter of 10/15 minutes before the kids are begging for snacks. Point being: moms are busy people!
Anyway, on my blog, I tend to ramble... a lot. Usually about nothing, sometimes I vent. Sometimes I just share my thoughts. My favorite part of my blog is probably the "I keeps it real" posts. Sometimes I post recipes, sometimes I just over share pictures.
 I live in Alaska. That's where Uncle Sam wants us to be for the time being.Come August, he's sending us to Georgia. We are BEYOND thrilled. After 3 years of super cold and dark winters, we're ready to be down South. The hubs and I are both from Tennessee so we just don't really belong in Alaska. I do however feel completely blessed to have gotten the opportunity to live here. People from where I grew up.... well, a lot of them have never even left the state, let alone move off to Alaska! See what I mean about "I ramble.... a lot"?! I warned you.
Oh and let's include a picture of me so you know who's talking to you. That would probably be nice, huh?!
This one is just ironic. I mean, I was supposed to be drawing an artist- something I clearly am not. Just look at that painting. Worst artist I've ever seen.
Sometimes I give hints- like, really obvious ones. Basically, I cheat. So sue me. Here's Bieber:
This is something I go to more than I read other blogs- I oughta know how to draw it!
And now, for a chat...
Each week, I have two or three link ups by the end of the week- rarely more. What would you think about doing this every other week instead? Should I keep it how it is? Feedback? Beuller?
Thirty One Sponsor Post
Happy May, my friends! Some exciting things are happening this month that I can't wait to tell you about, but you'll have to give me a few more days. Forgive me for the vagueness. Meanwhile, this has been cracking me up for a few days now:
Anyway, I've got some great sponsors this month that I look forward to introducing you to. Would you like to sponsor Mrs. K and Captain J? It's not too late. Blog button swaps are FREE this month! If you're looking to further your business by advertising, I'd be happy to help. Go here for more information about my reach and prices or email me at MrsKandCaptainJ[at]hotmail[dot]com.
My first sponsor I'd like to introduce you to is a Thirty One consultant:
Photobucket
Have you looked at the new catalog? Love! I'd be in Heaven if I had a craft room full of personalized organizational tools like this one (well, AND time to spend in it!) Isn't this fantastic?
Thirty One also introduced a new spirit line where you can design a bag to take along to your favorite sports games so go pick out your favorite. Miss Meaghan also asked me to share the big deal that she has going on right now:
Spend $31 and you can get an all in one organizer for only $5!
Sweet!
Go check her out and tell her Mrs. K sent ya!
Again, Happy May to you and thanks always for reading.
Love,
Mrs. K
